縮毛矯正は、最初に髪に1液（還元剤）を塗布して、髪の結合を切断し、柔らかな髪の状態をつくり、アイロンなどを使ってくせを伸ばしてストレートの状態にします。その後、2液（酸化剤）を塗布して、髪を再び結合させて、真っすぐに伸ばした髪の毛をキープするという流れで行います。
この薬剤の浸透・定着に24～48時間かかると言われていて、その間は髪が不安定な状態になっています。当日シャンプーをしてしまうと、
・せっかく入れた栄養が抜けてしまう
・栄養などが定着しきっていないためダメージが進行する
といったことが起きてしまうことがあるのです。
ですので、縮毛矯正をした当日のシャンプーはNGとされています。
縮毛矯正後のシャンプーはいつからOK？
縮毛矯正をした後のシャンプーは、施術から24時間以上の時間を空けることが理想です。
これは、薬剤が安定するまでにかかる時間が24～48時間という理由からです。
現在は縮毛矯正に使われる薬剤の改良が進んでいることや、美容技術の向上などにより、48時間(丸２日)も我慢する必要はありません。
